Which Horses Benefit?
- Horses in pre-training, young racehorses or older horses during the first and second preparation for racing or upper level equestrian training
- Horses working at intense levels in race training, upper level equestrian competition or endurance training when adequate bone minerals are required for optimum health and function of the skeletal system
- Spelling horses as a supplement for the first 10 -14 days of rest
- Equestrian horses during regular daily training and fed grain, fat-boosted or high lucerne diets to balance bone mineral and particularly calcium to phosphorus ratios
- For harness or endurance horses fed Kohnke’s Own Harness Special or Marathon Endurance but not receiving lucerne hay in their diet, which would normally meet bone mineral needs.

Supplementation Guidelines
For horses in pretraining, 2-3 year old race horses, or older horses during first and second preparations for racing or upper level equestrian training, provide 120 grams per day
For horses in daily race training or upper level equestrian and endurance training, provide 80 grams daily.
Spelling Horses for the first 10 – 14 days, provide 60 grams daily.
Equestrian horses during regular daily training and fed grain, fat-boosted or high lucerne diets, provide 60 grams daily
Adult Show Ponies and Miniatures in regular daily training and fed grain, fat-boosted or high lucerne diets, provide 40 grams daily.
