Late Pregnant Mares
Every heavily pregnant mare needs an assured intake of essential trace-minerals and vitamins. As her unborn foal doubles in size in the third trimester of pregnancy, it needs to store adequate copper, zinc, selenium, iron and vitamins A and E in its liver as a reserve during the first 2 months of life on a predominantly milk based diet, which is low in these essential nutrients. Studies indicate that an adequate intake of these nutrients are not provided by common pasture and hay based diets.A daily supplement of Cell-Grow® provides bone minerals, all essential trace-minerals and vitamins to help correct low or inadequate dietary intake in late pregnancy and onward to lactation. Cell-Grow's innovative 3 supplet® pellet blend eliminates sift-out, dust and nutrient interaction - common problems with powdered supplements.
Mares for Breeding
Mares over-wintering at grass need extra energy and protein at least 6 weeks before breeding to help ensure optimum ovarian function, fertility and chance of conception. Low dietary intake of phosphorous, selenium, vitamin A and vitamin E has been associated with reduced fertility and conception rates.Adequate phosphorous and vitamin A is usually provided by spring pastures, but selenium and vitamin E may be low or inadequate.
A daily supplement of E-Se suppletsTM containing organic selenium and vitamin E will correct these low or inadequate levels to help ensure optimum fertility.
Start daily supplementation with E-Se Suppletstm, the world's only no-waste vitamin E and organic selenium pellet, about 4 weeks before breeding your mare. A 1.4kg pack provides 100 doses - enough for 3 mares for a month prior to sending them to stud.
